Many of us believe in taking time each day to meditate. But are you getting the most out of your meditation? Here are four things to watch out for.
1. If you are trying to “get into” a certain mood before meditating, keep in mind that your meditation will take you deeper than your surface emotions.
2. Trying to block out all thoughts can increase stress. The right meditation technique will take you beyond the thinking mind.
3. Using aromatherapy, light, or music may give you pleasure, but we run our senses at top speed 24/7. Give them a rest–focus on the inner sense.
4. Skipping mediation. We may feel too busy or stressed to meditate but consistent mediation is the key to success.
