After a Breakup, Who Says Feelings Make Sense?

Your head knows why you broke up, but your heart is playing tricks on you. Out of sight, out of mind doesn’t seem apply the more time passes; in fact, your heart is definitely growing fonder toward your ex. Why? You miss the special moments. You long for connection. You want validation that what you had was real and, at times, a good thing. Acknowledge your feelings, but don’t act on them. Just because you long for something doesn’t mean it’s healthy or beneficial. Do your best to remain rational, and tolerate the discomfort in your heart. Choose to better serve your future with a relationship that is rooted in reality and meets your needs.
