Authentic Communication: Sending vs Receiving
The current information age is one of messages, sent and received. The Enneagram is a useful receiver. By sharing with each other, people are able to receive energy and understand each other. To achieve this understanding, people must be open and aware. If we are defensive or positioned to self-protect, our receptors will fail. Each of the Enneagram types run unique risks of failed reception. To bypass those barriers, try asking questions of each Enneagram type that each would relate to. For example, one might ask a Two, “can we receive graciously from others without internal tabulation or giving back?” or ask an Eight, “can we receive that which makes us feel vulnerable?
