Being “fully present” means that you are totally engaged in whatever you are currently doing. Your attention, integrity, and energy are completely focused on the task at hand. This is an enjoyable state, and one that you can easily relate to when your task is enjoyable. It is possible to create the feeling of being fully present in tasks that are not things you normally look forward to doing. If you can be aware of how your brain and body respond when you are completely engaged in a pleasant experience, then you can try to recall those feelings and emotions while taking on a more onerous or mundane duty.
