BPA and Your Blood Pressure
Many of us are avoiding plastic bottles with BPA, or cans that are lined with this substance. Here is another reason to avoid BPA-containing products: Drinking from these containers can raise your blood pressure by five millimeters of mercury. That is enough elevation to cause “clinically significant” issues, especially if you have a pre-existing condition like heart disease or high blood pressure. Stop using these products now, as over time, the rise in blood pressure also increases your health risks. If you experience a 20 millimeter of mercury increase in blood pressure, the likelihood of cardiovascular disease is doubled.
