When you are confronted by a disagreeable person in the workplace, do you look to see if you are upset because this person exhibits traits that you possess? You probably don’t do this, but it is an interesting concept that those traits we least like in others are often in ourselves. Even if you find that you are not engaging in behavior that is similar, you can still learn from your encounters. Human nature is universal, and what you observe in others can help you understand yourself better. It’s also easier to change your own behavior than trying to change someone else’s.
