Centering Ourselves
If you’re feeling unfocused and are having difficulty taking in new thoughts, ideas, and concepts, it may be time to center yourself. If your thoughts and feelings are out of sync with your actions, you may have the feeling that you’re disconnected with your surroundings. We all center ourselves naturally and unconsciously whenever we take a deep breath before plunging into a big commitment. Those who practice breathing meditation are engaged in centering themselves. To begin centering yourself, sit down somewhere comfortable and gather your scattered thoughts and energy back into your core. Imagine yourself casting a net, snagging your straying thoughts and feelings, and bringing them back into the center of your being.
