The Connection Between Inflammation and Sleep

Researchers are finding that there’s a link between not getting enough quality sleep at night and inflammation.

The study was supported by the Ohio State University Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research. Forty-three couples participated in two visits. They had their blood drawn and reported how long they had slept for the previous two nights. The couples then attempted to address a conflict relevant to their marriage. Blood was again taken afterward. Couples who got less sleep had higher levels of inflammatory response when stressed.
