Do you feel that how you perceive yourself differs from that of how others see you?
From the moment you are born, you are defined first by your parents, then, later in life, by others. The problem? How others perceive your behaviors can actually define you. This is called an “accidental identity.”
Break free from this perception by differentiating your past identity and creating a new one. Also, parents can help early on. If they avoid defining their own children and instead work to understand them as individuals, accidental identity may happen less often.
