He offers the following means to letting go of your guilt and accepting absolution: 1) Confess. Unburden yourself to an authority figure. 2) Atone. Make amends. 3) Pray. Seek forgiveness from a higher power. 4) Perform an appeasement. 5) If you find that you are too ashamed to reveal the cause of your guilt, take smaller, intentional steps like letter writing, examination of your misdeed from a more objective perspective, or adoption of a positive mantra that will help redirect your guilty thoughts.
