According to researchers at the university of Cambridge, a very small number of women have mutated versions of the KSR2 gene that increases appetite and slows metabolism. Others suffer from a FTO variant gene, which also increase obesity. On the whole, if metabolism is an issue, exercise is the answer to weight loss resistance. Because muscle burns more calories than fat, strength training and aerobic exercise are optimal. Despite marketed claims, resist the urge to purchase supplements, as there are none that have been scientifically proven rev up metabolism.
