Exercise Doesn’t Just Alleviate Depression Symptoms, It May Help Prevent Them
As we all know, exercise helps lighten the symptoms of depression, but a new study finds that it may actually help prevent them. The study surveyed 3,000 women between the ages of 42 and 52 to assess their fitness and depression. They found that the women who got the suggested amount of exercise had fewer signs of depression than those who were inactive. They also found that the women who were more active had even fewer signs of depression. We are finding that exercise is vital to mental health. It improves cognitive function, reduces stress and anxiety, and helps control addiction.
