Having Baby “Late” in Life May Signal Longevity
According to data compiled by the Long Life Family Study (LLFS), women who naturally have children after age 33 are more likely to live a long life. Research reveals that having a child at an older age indicates slower biological aging, a major contributor to the long lives of people participating in the study. “The natural ability to have a child at an older age likely indicates that a woman’s reproductive system is aging slowly, and therefore so is the rest of her body,” researcher Thomas Perls, M.D., M.P.H. noted. It was also determined that women who had their final pregnancy after age 33 were twice as likely to live to age 95 or beyond.
