Helping Others Lowers Stress

Want to know a quick way to lower your stress level? Try helping someone!

Researchers from the Yale University School of Medicine studied 77 adults over a 14-day period. These people reported any stressful events that happened each day. They also noted whether they had been helpful to someone else. To conclude, they reported their mental health for that day as well.

The results showed that helping others helped the participants emotionally, improved well-being, and also led to feeling better. In addition, helpfulness could work for coping for stressful situations such as holidays too.
