How our Deepest Fears Sabotage our Relationships
Sometimes the problems with our relationships stem not from within the relationship itself, but from ourselves. People who avoid commitments tend to do so not because they aren’t wholly interested in their partner, but because of a fear of loss of autonomy, or being controlled by circumstances not of their own volition. Such fears may cause people to behave in hurtful and confusing ways toward the ones they love. Being aware of these deeper fears allows us to understand our own motivations — what is really driving us to act the way we do. When we understand ourselves, we can communicate better, and learn to heal our relationships.
