Keys to Change – Fives

As it pertains to change, fear and loss seem to push Fives forward. Fives usually need help seeing, understanding, and embracing their emotional selves and meeting their own emotional needs. They also benefit from recognizing the emotional importance of other people in their lives. Because they tend to offer themselves to the world only from an intellectual place, they often operate in isolation, feeling invaded when someone tries to connect emotionally. To avoid withdrawal, Fives  can learn to communicate, negotiate, and  navigate constricted emotion. Fives may resist counseling or coaching and a counselor would probably need to try more creative approaches, like a journal, to help him or her focus on making changes.
