Due to today’s technology, it’s not just easier to have an affair, it’s also easier to unearth one. As well as track the communication trail.

Once an affair is discovered, the couple often sees a marriage counselor. The counselor helps them handle the immediate crisis, slows them down, and helps them avoid rash decisions about their future. The sessions are painful, but they make progress.

Some 6-8 sessions later, their momentum often slows because the betrayed partner can’t stop obsessing about details. Questions like “What did she/he have that I don’t have?” don’t stop as they search for more evidence.

It’s not beneficial when this process goes on for too long.
