Marital Issues May Give Rise to Different Emotions in Men & Women
A study headed by Dr. Deborah Carr, a sociology professor at Rutgers University, examined the emotions that marital problems create in women and men. She discovered that each gender had a different reaction, when dealing with difficulties in their marriages.
The couples in the study were asked about their need to talk about worries, if their spouse appreciated them, and how they made them feel. It seemed that men often didn’t want to express their emotions, but simply were frustrated. Women, on the other hand, were much more comfortable talking about their worries or sadness, although they too felt frustration.
