Meditation Malice
Author Josh Korda shares his experience with “meditation malice”. Exhausted from his career and greatly anticipating a weekend with other meditators, Korda quickly finds himself distracted and resenting the presence of one his peers. Bothered by this person’s breathing, posture, movement, questions, even his clothes, Korda must eventually deal with the true source of his resentment. He comes to realize that meditation does not simply serve to bring relief from uncomfortable emotions. It also allows emotions to “arise and pass without being attached to or repressed.” Real peace may be achieved when space and energy are shaped by complete authenticity.
