Menopause and Memory
A recent study published in Menopause on May 23 2013 has found that women who have the most trouble with their memory also experience the most hot flashes. The study was conducted at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University and tested the attention and recall of 68 women between the ages of 44 and 62, all of whom reported having over 35 hot flashes per week. The results showed that women who experienced more hot flashes performed worse on tests and had more difficulty with memory. Also, women who reported having difficulty with their moods and emotions also performed worse on the tests.
