Mindfulness allows us to be more present, reduce stress, and stay focused. To do this, focus on your breathing as you inhale and exhale. As you breathe, pay attention to your body and your surroundings, including sounds and smells. If your mind wanders return your focus back to the breath. This is called deep breathing.
Research shows that mindfulness can work to help your body too. This includes addressing issues such as blood pressure, heart disease, and pain.
