Mindfulness isn’t just Mind Medicine, it’s also good for Your Heart
According to researchers at Brown University, the practice of mindfulness is likely connected to enhanced cardiovascular and overall health. Findings appear to indicate that “dispositional mindfulness,” which is defined as “an awareness of what we are thinking and feeling in the moment,” is key. Researcher Eric Loucks, assistant professor of epidemiology, led a team that surveyed study participants, asking questions designed to determine how attuned they are to their bodies internally. The questions were part of the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. The results reveal that the higher the awareness, the healthier the hearts of the participants.
