No Time to Exercise? Think Again!
No time to spend at the gym? A recent study in the American Journal of Health Promotion contends that short periods of exercise can be just as effective as longer workouts. An additional study from Arizona State University of prehypertensive participants showed that individuals can reduce the risk of heart disease by engaging in three 10-minuted sessions of aerobic exercise every day. Researchers state that, although the less-than-10-minutes exercise can be as effective as longer exercise routines, individuals do have to accrue 150 minutes per week. Among the less-than-10-minutes adherents, there was as much of a drop in blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose levels as in their more active exercising counterparts.
