Pain, yes and no

If you understand yourself via enneagram descriptions, you may find yourself analyzing all kinds of things using an enneagram scale. The Light Between Oceans, by M. L. Stedman, is an example of how a book can evoke very different reactions among its readers. One reviewer, who describes herself as a Seven, states that the book is about a variety of emotional and mental anguish. She claims to have read the book only because she “had to.” She also surmises that readers with an enneagram profile of Four, especially an unhealthy Four, would find the book difficult to put down.
