Psychosocial stress is a form of threat assessment by your brain. It’s useful, but it can also cause problems.

Your Body and Psychosocial Stress

We all slip into psychosocial stress occasionally. This happens when we think there is a threat to things like our social standing or acceptance with others. Your body responds via biological stress responses. The release of cortisol and epinephrine are common.

It can be distressing if you constantly struggle with psychosocial stress. However, practicing stress management and other skills you can reduce your stress levels.
