Research Effectiveness of Mindfulness
Although it may seem like a trendy, self-help fad, research is showing that mindfulness is actually effective.
What would happen if students participated in 30-minute sessions twice a week for six weeks? Scientist’ wanted to know:
In 2014, a study conducted by Dutch researchers found that students had less stress. Subjects also demonstrated better behavior in school. Another study in 2015 among urban middle school students in high-poverty also revealed lowered stress levels and decreased depression too. Finally, a third study found students improved math scores by practicing mindfulness.
