SPECT is Best for Brain Injury Diagnosis
If you find that your depression just won’t be alleviated by therapy or medication, you may need to take a closer look at your brain with something called a SPECT. An undiagnosed traumatic brain injury (TBI) is best revealed by this type of imaging. According to a review of 1,600 research studies conducted over the past three decades, many psychological, emotional, and learning problems can be attributed to overlooked TBIs. The review also determined that SPECT imaging is capable of highlighting TBI abnormalities that CT and MRI can’t pick up. Furthermore, SPECT results almost always align with symptoms of TBI and more effectively points to proper treatment.
