What is ego? Despite what you may think, the “I” most associated with ego is not who you are; it is an informational structure. Consider the following points:
· Ego is Information- Ego is description, not necessarily the truth of who you are. Can you tell the differences between how you describe yourself, and your true self?
· Ego is Identification- Ego aligns itself with something external. This outside identification is like “shooting two arrows in two opposite directions, and claiming that they are going to hit the same target.”
· Ego is Impermanence- Ego is information about our constantly changing forms, not about the true essence of us. How we are never stays the same.
