Thinking About Stress

An interesting study by French researchers has recently been published in the European Heart Journal.  The team analyzed data from more than 7,000 adults about their smoking, drinking, diet, exercise, age, sex, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.  Amazingly, study participants who reported that they felt stress was negatively affecting their health were twice as likely to have a heart attack as those who said stress had no effect on their health.  Doctors have long known that stress can affect health, but now it is apparent that how we think about stress has a very real impact on our health as well.
