Researchers at California’s Loma Linda University investigated the benefits of humor on 20 seniors recently. They found that recall among those who were exposed to humorous videos increased by 43.6 percent. Those who didn’t have the benefit of humor only improved recall by 20.3 percent, and retained much higher cortisol levels. Other studies found that a sense of humor helps reduce heart disease, and up to 40 calories a day can be burned through laughter. All together, joyful situations are good for your health and happiness.
