Resting plays just as important of a role as physical exercise, when it comes to our overall health. The trick is to actually plan periods of sound rest into our busy schedules. How can you do this?

  • Take a nap for 10-20 minutes each afternoon in a darkened room.
  • Spend relaxing time outdoors in natural sunlight as often as possible.
  • Dim lights about an hour before bedtime, and limit exposure to bright screens from electronic devices.
  • Make sure your bedroom setting and mattress facilitate a restorative sleep once you do go to bed.
