What Sedentary Living Does to Your Brain

People aren’t meant to be potatoes, especially not the couch variety. We are meant to move. If we don’t, there may be serious consequences for our brains. A study on rats performed by researchers at Wayne State University revealed that inactivity could lead to grave brain alterations in humans. Sedentary rats developed tentacle-like brain neurons that could very likely increase blood pressure and heart problems over time. This study suggests that lack of aerobic exercise is dangerous to our health on a very basic level. Our bodies developed over eons with activity; to deprive it of that activity is clearly damaging. A healthy diet and exercise must be incorporated daily to avoid bodily deterioration.
