Women More Sensitive to Annoying Behavior

Women are more sensitive in general, and often more socially aware, than men. No surprise then that they’re also easily irritated when a male is rude or acts boorishly.

By means of a survey of more than 200 people, Christopher Hopwood, professor of psychology at the Michigan State University and practicing therapist, evaluated the differences in sensitivities between women and men when confronted with certain social situations.

A current study also examined how male and females react when they encounter antagonism, controlling behavior, and overly or inappropriate displays of affection in social settings. Researchers hope that the insight they’ve gained will help them better understand what might lead to relationship problems.
