When dealing with negative people we can choose not to respond to their behavior and allow our positive behavior to be an example. Because we interact with different personalities, we will find ourselves dealing with people whose behavior negatively impacts the experiences of others. A person who is loud and crass, disruptive, pessimistic, or highly critical can disrupt the morale of others. This “bad apple” can be a potent distraction, making it difficult to focus on the blessings in our life. When this type of person enters our life, our first impulse is to express our anger and frustration, but a bad apple can only sour our lives if we let them.
