Fifteen years ago, mindfulness was just starting out and many psychologists viewed it as nothing more than new-age mumbo-jumbo. Fast forward to 2015, where science and mindfulness have married. It is a wonderful union. Here are five things that mindfulness meditation can do for you:

3. It changes the brain’s structure.
4. It changes your body to help fight cancer.
5. It helps you lose and keep weight off.
It can be harder for some people to learn mindfulness than others. Those whose parents didn’t help them learn to identify and handle emotions may have a harder time learning mindfulness.
