Meditation For Multitasking

To make your workday less stressful and to improve your memory and concentration, practice meditation. A study explored the effects of meditation on three groups of human resource managers. Each participant took a test of their ability to multitask by using email, calendars, instant-messaging, the telephone, and word processing tools. After the test, Group One began eight weeks of mindfulness-based meditation training, Group Two received eight weeks of relaxation training, and Group Three continued to work without any special training for eight weeks, then participated in the same training as Group One. After training, Group One reported less stress during multitasking, but Group Two didn’t. After their training, Group Three also showed less stress.
