What to Do About Sleep Apnea

Have you been snoring loudly or have stopped breathing while asleep? You may have sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea closes your upper airway when you are sleeping. This causes you to temporarily stop breathing and can occur up to sixty times an hour. During the daytime, you feel drowsy, irritable, and have memory issues.

You can make lifestyle adjustments to deal with sleep apnea by having a healthy weight, avoiding naps, and sleeping on your side vs. your back. You should also avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine.
